Adult Day Training (ADT) Program: Enhancing Social Skills and Community Involvement
Our Adult Day Training (ADT) program is designed to help individuals with developmental disabilities improve their social skills and become more actively involved in their community. Available Monday through Friday for individuals on the APD Waiver, our program provides a safe, supportive environment where participants can engage in a variety of enriching activities.
At Specially Fit, we offer a diverse range of activities that foster personal growth, community engagement, and fun. Participants enjoy outings such as bowling, beach days, park visits, and movie days, all of which help them build friendships and practice social interactions in real-world settings. Our daily workouts and fitness activities also promote physical well-being and encourage healthy lifestyle habits.
In addition to recreational outings, we focus on developing practical life skills, such as computer literacy and safety awareness in the community. Whether it's learning to navigate the local area, practicing how to interact with others in public spaces, or mastering important online skills, we ensure that our participants gain the knowledge they need to thrive independently and confidently.
We place a strong emphasis on teaching safety skills, such as how to travel in the community, interact respectfully with strangers, and handle different public environments. These lessons help participants become more confident, self-reliant, and equipped to handle everyday situations.
Through a combination of structured learning and engaging activities, our ADT program is committed to helping individuals enhance their social skills, build lasting friendships, and enjoy a fulfilling, active lifestyle within their community.
